Diverse outdoor musical acts lined up at Governor’s Inn
Now in the second weekend of it’s Summer Music Series, The Governor’s Inn and Café present three bands each weekend all summer, as part of its Acoustic Fridays on the Front Lawn series, it’s Rockin’ Saturdays at the Café series, and it’s Sunday Garden Concerts at the Café.
Slated for this weekend:
Friday, June 25 6-9m
Presentense, and acoustic duo featuring Paul on guitar, harmonica and vocals and Jennie on lead vocals, keyboard, mandolin and djembe. Their sound combines influences of jazz, gypsy jazz, blues, french music and even operatic training. Inspired by local artists and musician friends from around the world, their sound is filled with unique vocal harmonies and diverse songwriting.
Saturday, June 26 7-10pm
The George Brown Band, an orginal jam band playing Americana, roots, and American funk. Reviewed as having “Such a cool vocal delivery, great feel, and really solid lyrics.” Members include drummer Brian Litchfield, bassist Lex Buzzell, singer and guitarist George Brown.
Sunday, June 27 4-7pm
Wooden Eye: A collaboration of veteran musicians from the New England area who put their all into playing blues, beautiful traditional ballads, and crash-and-burn roots rock. This band is pure ‘Americana.’ Wooden Eye is comprised of Bob Halperin on guitar, Diddley Bo on Mandolin and Vocals, Mike “Bullfrog” Rogers - formerly of Roundhouse Blues - on harmonica and vocals, Joe Rogers Drums and Percussion, and Dan MacLellan on bass and vocals. A hearty and diverse menu is at all shows. All events are free (donations appreciated) and shows are schedule shine or rain (under the tent).
